About CostPilotUSA
CostPilotUSA is a home cost guide for American homeowners. Every guide answers one practical question: what will this project really cost, and how do you know if the quote in front of you is fair?
Why this site exists
Most cost pages give a national average and stop there. A national average does not tell you why your roofer charged for decking, why a heat pump quote doubled after the tax credit ended, or which line on a bathroom bid is padding. We write for the moment a homeowner is holding a real quote and needs to decide.
What you will find here
- Cost guides with low, typical and high ranges, and the factors that move a job from one to the other
- Quote checkers that walk through a bid line by line
- Repair-or-replace guides built on age, damage and insurance rules
- Money guides on loans, contracts, permits and insurance claims
- Free calculators that run in your browser and store nothing about you
Who is behind it
CostPilotUSA is edited by Pradip Tambe, Founder & Editor. Guides are researched from primary sources: government wage and price data, manufacturer documentation, state licensing and building agencies, insurer and utility publications, and industry cost studies. Each guide lists its sources at the end.
We are not contractors, lenders, insurers or lawyers, and we do not sell leads. Read our editorial policy to see how guides are written, checked and updated, and our disclaimer for the limits of general cost information.
