Reporting an error

Use the contact page and include the page link, the figure or statement you think is wrong, and your source if you have one.

What we do

• We check the report against primary sources
• If the error is confirmed, we fix it and update the "last updated" date
• If a correction changes a conclusion or a cost range in a meaningful way, we add a short correction note to the guide

Outdated information

Prices, tax rules, codes and insurance practices change. When a change makes a guide outdated, we update or retire it rather than leave old numbers online.
